This fabulous antique Gold gilt horse shoe brooch is Victorian Circa 1900.
The Horseshoe has long been a symbol of good luck and became a popular image in Victorian jewellery when there was an increase in superstition.
The lovely brooch is decorated in pale blue Enamel with sparkling Paste Stones at either side.
Paste is a heavy, transparent flint glass that simulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones. White Pastes sparkle just like Diamonds and take expert craftsmanship to capture their beauty.
The brooch is beautifully engraved and features a lovely buckle in the centre which curls out of the horse shoe.
All set in Base Metal gilded in 18ct Yellow Gold.
A lovely collectable piece that looks fabulous when worn!
